I have the experience and the heart
to bring out the best in you...
As a child in New York I was interested in everything creative and art related. I took every class at Michaels from water color painting to calligraphy to knitting and learned to sew at Joann’s Fabric and craft store. I wanted to do it all. Initially I believed that my passion was fashion design, but I quickly figured out that wasn’t what I wanted.
I used to go to salons a lot and my mother also did my hair when I was young. I never got the style I wanted. Many times I left crying after numerous “trims”. You know those trims that are really haircuts! Same thing when I would get my eyebrows waxed, every two weeks I had a new shape from someone making a mistake. So at 12 years old I started doing my own hair. I cut my own bangs and started putting in hair extensions for myself as well as my family members. I was really good at it! Fast forward to my high school prom when I did my own makeup. It looked really good even though my skills are the time were minimal. I made pink eye shadow work that day.
I started college at Winston Salem State University in North Carolina and realized that was not my dream. So, I picked up and moved back to NY to attend cosmetology school. I went to a Paul Mitchell Partner School where I learned so much about hair, but nothing really about makeup. I am essentially a self-taught makeup artist. While in New York, I worked on many different projects with companies such as the American Cancer Society for a public service announcement, Calvin Klein, and Phillip Lim for Target. I have the experience and the heart to bring out the best in you.
I am an artist that wants to give my clients exactly what they desire. I have experienced a bad hair stylist and horrible eyebrow “specialist” and now I strive to be better than them. I strive to be the best. I make people look like the best version of themselves and they always leave with a smile.
